Common questions
How do I open my clipboard history?
Press ⌘⇧V, or choose Open Clipboard History from the CopyLocker menu bar icon. You can change the shortcut in Settings → Shortcuts.
Why does macOS ask about Accessibility?
Only for pasting straight into the app you are working in: CopyLocker sends a single ⌘V after you choose an item. Allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, or skip it — CopyLocker then copies the item and you press ⌘V yourself.
Why isn't CopyLocker recording what I copy?
Check that capture isn't paused (the menu bar icon shows Resume Capture when it is) and that the app you copied from isn't under Never Capture From. On macOS 15.4 and later, also allow CopyLocker in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Paste from Other Apps. Copies an app marks as temporary are skipped by default, and two copies made within about half a second of each other can register as one.
Why has ⌘⇧V stopped working as Paste and Match Style?
Some apps use ⌘⇧V for Paste and Match Style. While CopyLocker holds that shortcut those apps won't receive it; pick a different one in Settings → Shortcuts.
Does my clipboard history leave my Mac?
No. The app has no network entitlement, so it cannot make a connection at all. History is also kept out of Time Machine backups unless you turn that on.
Is sensitive-content protection a guarantee?
No. It recognises common patterns — one-time codes, card-like numbers, private keys and the like — but it can miss things and occasionally flag ordinary text. To be certain an app is never captured, add it to Never Capture From.
How do I delete my history?
Choose Clear History from the menu bar icon, or use Settings → Storage, which can also clear just images. Delete single items with ⌘⌫ in the history window. Clearing takes effect immediately.
Privacy and data requests
CopyLocker collects nothing. Your clipboard history is stored only on your Mac, and the app ships sandboxed with no network entitlement, so it is technically incapable of making a network connection at all.
Because nothing leaves your device, there is no account to close and no server-side data for us to export or delete.
On a Mac, moving the app to the Trash leaves what it stored behind.
Choose Clear History → Clear All… from the menu bar icon, or Clear All History… in Settings → Storage: that deletes every item, pinned ones included, with their images and data files. To clear everything at once, quit CopyLocker and delete its container, ~/ (the identifier keeps the app's earlier name), which also holds your Never Capture From list and your settings.
