Reporting a problem
Please include as much of this as you can — it usually turns a week of guessing into a same-day fix:
- macOS version and Mac model
- Whether Screen Recording permission is granted
- Which capture mode was in use (region, window or display)
- What you expected versus what happened
- Steps to reproduce
Common questions
Why does macOS ask for Screen Recording permission?
macOS requires it of every screenshot app without exception. Grant it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, then relaunch LucidCapture.
Do my screenshots leave my Mac?
No. The app has no network entitlement, so it cannot make a connection at all.
Can I change the keyboard shortcuts?
Yes, in Settings. The defaults are ⌃⇧3 for display, ⌃⇧4 for region and ⌃⇧5 for window.
Where are my captures stored?
In the app's own sandbox container. You can also turn on “Also save to folder” and pick a folder of your own.
Is redaction actually safe?
Yes. Redacted regions are destroyed in the exported image rather than covered by a shape that could be removed.
How do I remove everything the app has stored?
Delete captures from inside the library, or remove the app and its container to clear all of its data at once.
Privacy and data requests
LucidCapture collects nothing. It ships sandboxed with no networking entitlement, so it is technically incapable of making a network connection at all.
Because nothing leaves your device, there is no account to close and no server-side data for us to export or delete.
On a Mac, moving the app to the Trash leaves what it stored behind.
Delete captures from the library, then empty the Trash: a deleted capture goes to the Trash rather than vanishing, so it stays recoverable until you do. To clear everything at once, quit LucidCapture and delete its container, ~/, which holds the library, its index and your settings. Copies saved with “Also save to folder” are your own files and stay where you put them. Full detail is in the
LucidCapture privacy policy.
